Alexandra Sasha GombarAlexandra “Sasha” Gombar is an Associate Attorney in WMC’s Washington, D.C. office. She handles complex commercial litigation, including cases involving fraud, theft of trade secrets, supply chain disputes, civil RICO matters, and insurance coverage claims (representing policyholders). She also works on complex tort and environmental claims, focusing on multidistrict litigation and on transnational matters. Before joining the firm, Sasha was a law clerk for the Honorable Samuel H. Mays at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee in Memphis. Previously, Sasha served as a staff attorney at the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals in Atlanta, Georgia. While working at the federal judiciary, Sasha gained experience with civil rights law, employment law, criminal appeals, and habeas corpus litigation. As a law student, Sasha was an articles editor on the Vanderbilt Law Review; received the award for Best Oralist in Vanderbilt’s Moot Court Competition; and graduated Order of the Coif. Sasha spent her childhood in the Czech Republic and the UK, and her international upbringing gave her a lifelong passion for global and human rights issues. She has worked at the United Nations Special Tribunal for Lebanon in the Hague, Netherlands; in Kigali, Rwanda researching transitional justice after the Rwandan genocide; and at non-profit organizations in Rwanda, Uganda, and Jordan. |
